Sheep Happens

San Angelo is famous for its painted sheep all over town. If you go to our visitor center you can pick up a brochure that lists the sheep, the artists, and the addresses where they can be found. I did this earlier in the summer with my kids and we only found 14 of the around 30 sheep that are "roaming" our great town.

I thought this would be fun for the 'Belles to do, so they could get to know each other and get to learn more about San Angelo. Of course, we rarely do anything that doesn't involve competition. So, I put them into four teams and they had an hour and a half to find and take pictures of has many sheep as they could. They had a great time and we had limited injuries - Morgan fell in a hole and Ashley James got her foot run over by a car, and no speeding tickets! Two teams found 29 sheep (pretty impressive), so the winner had to be determined by how many pictures they had taken with all four people in the picture. The winners were Jezzal, Camille, Krysta, and Mel. This announcement did not come without controversy and even some formal protests (which I appreciated, because they are competitors and they don't like to lose), but I remained strong in my choice of the winning team and they received tank tops that say "sheep happens".

We start our on court skill work and conditioning next week and I can't wait. Stay tuned for more updates. It is a great year to be a 'Belle!
